(2) Petitioner has approached this Court for police protection. According to him, his son Aditya married daughter of respondent no. 4 in a temple and thereafter they are living separately at some other place. However, on account of the said marriage, respondent no. 4 is annoyed with the petitioner and he is extending threat to petitioner that he would be finished. (3) Learned Counsel for the petitioner refers to an incident, which allegedly occurred on 16.2.2025, when respondent no. 4 to 11 not only abused and manhandled the petitioner but they also beaten up him. Thus it is contended that in view of the grave threat to life and liberty of the petitioner, police authorities be directed to provide protection to him. (4) Learned State Counsel fairly submits that if petitioner approaches SHO, Pathri, District Haridwar, by making a formal request for protection, then the SHO concerned shall take necessary action in the matter to ensure that no harm is caused to life and liberty of the petitioner. (5) Accordingly, writ petition is disposed of by permitting the petitioner to make an application for police protection to SHO, Pathri. If petitioner makes such an application within one week from today, then SHO concerned shall ensure that no harm is caused to life and liberty of the petitioner, till decision is taken on his application, by any person including respondent no. 4 to 11. However, benefit of this order shall not be available to him if he fails to make the application within the stipulated time.
