The present Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India with the following prayers:-
“(I) Issue a Writ, Order or direction in the nature of Certiorari setting aside order, dated 21.04.2023, passed by the Under Secretary of the University Grants Commission (Annexure No.14). (II) Issue a Writ, Order or direction in the nature of Mandamus commanding Respondent No.1 and 2 to consider the case of the Petitioners for regularization of their services on a Class IV (Group D) post lying vacant in the University in pay scale of Rs.5200-20200 and grade pay of Rs.1800 per month. (III) Pass any other Writ, Order or Direction, which this Hon’ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case. (IV) Award cost of the Writ Petition to the petitioners.”

Dr. Kartikey Hari Gupta, Advocate, submitted that the services of the petitioners are similar to the petitioners of WPSS No. 425 of 2014 and WPSS No.44 of 2024. Vide Office Order dated 05.03.2025, the respondent University constituted a Committee to examine the services of various employees including the petitioners. The said Committee submitted its report on 24.04.2025. The Committee recommended that the petitioners may be given appointment against the existing vacant posts in the University. There are sanctioned and vacant posts in the University against which the petitioners can be given appointment.

With the consent of both the parties, the present Writ Petition is disposed of in terms of the Order dated 20.03.2018, passed in WPSS No.425 of 2014 and Order dated 24.12.2024, passed in WPSS No.44 of 2024.
