Kenajit, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. Y. Ashang, learned PP assisted by Mrs. RK. Emily, learned Dy. GA for the State respondents. [2] By the present petition, the petitioner approaches this Court for granting anticipatory bail in connection with FIR No. 04(04)2024 WNG-PS u/s 171F/325/354/400/427/506 IPC & 25 (1 C)A. Act, the petitioner is arrested as accused in the said FIR. The allegation in the FIR related to the last Lok Sabha election held on April, 2024. The petitioner was a candidate in the previous 2(two) Manipur Legislative Assembly elections but he was not a candidate in the previous Lok Sabha election. The allegation lodged against the accused/ petitioner is for disturbing, impersonation and assaulted some individuals. Thereafter, the petitioner filed bail application being Cril. Misc. (AB) Case No. 68 of 2025 and the same was rejected by the Ld. Sessions Judge, Thoubal vide order dated 10.11.2025. [3] During the course of hearing, Mr. Y. Ashang, learned PP produces bail report submitted by the I.O. of the case and in the bail report it is stated that the petitioner was present on the date of the incident, voters and witnesses saw him physically assaulted to one lady. It is also stated that the accused person has co-operated in the investigation but denied charge against him and the bail application report is taken on record. The FIR is of the April, 2024 and recently, the petitioner has apprehended arrest in connection with FIR and the police has visited his residence on 02.10.2025. In the circumstances, he approaches the Ld. Sessions Judge, Thoubal for granting anticipatory bail and the same was rejected and he filed the present case before this Court. [5] On perusing of the FIR, it is seen that some of the offences cited may not be attracted. However, as per the report, the statement of the accused has been recorded. In the circumstances, this Court is inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner and in case of arrest, the I.O. is directed to release him on furnishing PR bond of Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand) with 1(one) surety (State Govt. Employee) each of like amount to the satisfaction of the I.O. subject to the following conditions: i) The petitioner shall co-operate with the investigation. ii) The petitioner shall not leave the State of Manipur without permission of the I.O. iii) The petitioner shall not tamper with the evidence or influence witnesses. iv) In case, the petitioner violates any of the aforesaid conditions, the respondents are at liberty to approach this Court for cancellation of the bail application. [6] With these observations, the AB No. 36 of 2025 along with Crl. M.C. No. 44 of 2025 are disposed of. [7] Send a copy of this order to the concerned Officer-in-Charge, Wangoo, Police Station for information and furnish a copy to the learned counsel appearing for the parties. JUDGE Thoiba
