Respondent(s) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For Petitioner : Mr. Shayon Kar, Advocate For Respondents : Mr. T.K. Tiwari, Advocate ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hon'ble Shri Arvind Kumar Verma, Judge Order on Board 02.07.2025 1) By way of this petition, the petitioner is not challenging any specific order but questioning the sluggish and lethargic approach of the respondent authorities specifically the respondent no. 1. Whereby, the respondent no. 3 is not deciding the application submitted by the petitioner on 13.02.2024 and reminder on 05.11.2024 for changing her name in the 10th and 12th mark sheet from Rajnandini Paswan to Tanya Paswan due to astrological reasons. Whereas, the petitioner had completed all the requisite formalities, required to be completed before the submission of the application before the respondent no. 3 i.e. affidavit, newspaper publication along with Gazette notification publication. However, the respondent authority particularly the respondent no. 3 is malafidly keeping the petitioner aloof from her legitimate and bon fide right to update/modify the petitioner’s name from “Rajnandini Paswan” to “Tanya Paswan” in her Class 10th and Class 12th Mark sheets. 2) Learned counsel for the Respondent objected the prayer made by the leaned counsel for the petitioner and submitted that rules/regulations does not permit/allow to change the name of the petitioner. 3) I have heard learned counsel for the respective parties and perused the record with utmost circumspection. 4) Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, specially to the fact that an application has been submitted by the petitioner on 13.02.2024 and thereafter a reminder on 05.11.2024 has also been made by the petitioner for changing the name in the 10th and 12th mark sheet from “Rajnandini Paswan to Tanya Paswan”, this court directs the respondent no. 3 to decide the application submitted by the petitioner expeditiously as per rules/regulation. 5) With the aforesaid direction, the present petition stands disposed of. sd/- (Arvind Kumar Verma) Judge alfiza
