Challenge in this writ petition is to an order whereby a mutation application filed by the petitioner has been rejected. 3. The preliminary objection raised by learned counsel appearing for the respondents is that against the order impugned, the petitioner has a statutory alternative remedy of an appeal under Section 172 of the U.P. Municipal Corporation Act. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner has not been able to dispute the existence of such statutory alternative remedy. 5. Under the circumstances, the writ petition is dismissed leaving it open for the petitioner, in case so advised, to avail statutory alternative remedy for redressal of his grievance.
