By the above Government Order, the said leave would be a leave with salary for a maximum 26 weeks according to the Maternity Benefit Act,1961. 2. The learned counsel for the petitioner states that the period should be extended from 26 weeks to a period of one year as is granted by the Government for other employees. The petitioner may take up that cause, if so advised independently. 3. This Court places its deep appreciation for the efforts taken by the learned Additional Government Pleader in making the Government recognize the requirement of the petitioner and others like the petitioner and granting maternity leave benefit to them by passing the above Government Order. 4.
