Hon’ble Supreme Court in Steel Authority of India Limited Vs. Debu Lal Mahato & Ors. In S.L.P (Civil) No. 1415 of 2007 dated 05.03.2008, it has been held at para 11 that “the project was completed way back in 1966 and even after more than 40 years, people whose land was acquired are still litigating for getting employment which is not at all warranted. At the relevant time of acquisition, the intention of the Government was to rehabilitate the landless people whose land had been acquired and to provide employment to one member of the displaced family so that they could maintain the family so displaced. It was not at all the intention of the Government to distribute this kind of largesse on an indefinite basis”.
4. Under the circumstance, this writ petition is devoid of any merit and accordingly stands dismissed.
Pending I.A., if any, also stands disposed of.
