WP(C) No. 814 of 2025 & MC(WP(C)) No. 747 of 2025 Suppl.-1 Item Nos. 1-2 IN THE HIGH COURT OF MANIPUR AT IMPHAL WP(C) No. 814 of 2025 Sanasam Manisana Singh. …Petitioner - Versus - Union of India & 4 Ors. …Respondents With MC(WP(C)) No. 747 of 2025 B E F O R E HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE A. GUNESHWAR SHARMA O R D E R 10-10-2025 [1] Present Mrs. Babita Th., learned counsel for the petitioner; Mr. Y. Ashang, learned Government Advocate assisted by Mr. W. Niranjit, learned Dy. Government Advocate on behalf of respondent Nos. 3 & 4; and Ms. Kamei Landumshinlu, learned counsel for respondent Nos. 1 & 2. [2] The prayer made in the writ petition is for permitting the petitioner to choose for the management quota seats of Shija Academy of Health Sciences (SAHS), Langol, Imphal. It is stated that at the time of applying for second round of counselling for MBBS on the basis of NEET-UG 2025, the relevant Box for management quota of SAHS was not available due to some other reasons and the petitioner ticked only Government seats at RIMS, JNIMS, CMC & SAHS. It is stated that the second round of counselling is still going on and the petitioner intends to choose the relevant column for the management quota of SAHS. WP(C) No. 814 of 2025 & MC(WP(C)) No. 747 of 2025 [3] When the matters were taken up yesterday, Mr. Y. Ashang, learned Government Advocate for the State respondents, prayed for one day’s time for taking instructions and he has received instructions in terms of the letter dated 10-10-2025 issued by the Director of Health Services, Manipur to the Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Health & FW), Government of Manipur affirming that the second round of counselling is still going on. The instructions are taken on record. [4] In the circumstances, the petitioner is permitted to apply for the management quota of SAHS considering the peculiar fact that the same was not available at the time of applying for second round of counselling. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merit of the petitioner and his eligibility should be considered as per rules and in terms of the NEET-UG rules and regulations. [5] With this observation, the writ petition is disposed of. [6] MC(WP(C)) No. 747 of 2025 is also closed.
