The writ order dated 30.10.2024 in W.P.No.32133 of 2024 is under challenge in the present writ appeal. 2. The writ petitioners are the appellants before this Court. The relief sought for in the writ petition is to direct the Official respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 11.05.2023 to arrive at the compensation payable for 624 sq.ft of lands and other infrastructures in T.S.No.J/37/30-1 of https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WA No. 658 of 2025 Maravaneri, Salem acquired under private negotiation in 2000 with all applicable statutory benefits and interest. 3. With reference to the claim of the appellants, the Divisional Engineer(H), Projects, Salem filed a status report stating that the Joint Sub- Registrar, Salem in his letter to the District Revenue Officer, Salem has informed that the land value of the acquisition area of 624.00 sq.ft is Rs.288.50 sq.ft. But due to dispute in the ownership of the land, the acquisition has been dropped by then Divisional Engineer (H), SCRD, Salem and only a portion of the compound wall in the encroachment portion has been cleared and the project has been completed in the year 2000 itself. 4. The representation has been sent by the appellants on 11.05.2023 after a lapse of about 22 years. Based on the said representation, the writ petition came to be instituted. Thus, this Court is of the considered opinion that the claim set out by the appellants in the writ petition is stale and cannot be considered at this length of time.
