Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned A.G.A. for the State respondents. 3. This writ petition has been filed with the prayer to command the respondent authorities to release the petitioner from jail granting the benefit of remission as provided under Section 433/433 Cr.P.C./473/474 of BNSS 2023. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the name of petitioner has been forwarded alongwith required documents for release of prisoner under the policy framed by the State Government, as the petitioner is more than 74 years of age and he is languishing in jail for more than 15 years 02 months and 29 days as per certificate issued by Senior Superintendent Central Jail, Varanasi dated 08.02.2025 but the same is still pending consideration. 4. Under the circumstances, we provide that if any such proceeding has initiated and the same is still pending consideration, the same should be processed in accordance with law and final decision would be taken expeditiously, preferably within three months from today. 5.
