Neutral Citation No. - 2025:AHC:36372 Court No. - 5 Case :- WRIT - A No. - 3178 of 2025 Petitioner :- Niraj Kumar Respondent :- Food Corporation Of India And 4 Others Counsel for Petitioner :- Satyendra Pandey Counsel for Respondent :- A.S.G.I.,Santosh Kumar Mishra Hon'ble Ajay Bhanot,J. Shri Satyendra Pandey, learned counsel appears for the petitioner. Shri Santosh Kumar Mishra, learned counsel appears for the respondents No.2 to 5. The father of the petitioner died in the year 2009. The application of the petitioner for grant of appointment on compassionate ground was rejected by the order dated 28.11.2018. The petitioner has approached this Court in the year 2025. There is no satisfactory explanation for the delay. The writ petition is liable to be dismissed on grounds of delay and laches alone. However, there is another aspect to the matter. The long delay in making an application for grant of appointment on compassionate ground or lack of diligence shown in pursuing the same shows that the immediate financial hardship which arose in the aftermath of the death of the deceased-employee has ceased to exist. (See: Para 25 Ashish Yadav Vs. Managing Director, UP State Road Transport Corporation and others rendered in Writ A No. 17483 of 2024). The writ petition is accordingly dismissed.
