The present writ petition has been filed for issuance of direction upon the respondent no.2-State Transport Authority, Jharkhand to dispose of the petitioner’s on-line application no.JH- CS-PT-2094 (Annexure-3 to the writ petition) for countersignature of Permit No.BR2023-SC-0507A issued with respect to the bus bearing registration no.BR-02PB-8682 by the State Transport Authority, Bihar for the period from 20.02.2023 to 19.02.2028 for the route- Gaya to Daltonganj via Aurangabad- Hariharganj.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that on the basis of the agreement entered between the State of Bihar and the State of Jharkhand, the petitioner applied before the State Transport Authority, Bihar for grant of permit for the aforesaid route. It is further submitted that pursuant to grant of Permit No. BR2023-SC-0507A for the route in question, the Secretary, State Transport Authority, Bihar, Patna vide letter as contained in memo no. 1870 dated 18.03.2023 (Annexure-2 to the writ petition) requested the Secretary, State Transport Authority, Jharkhand,

Ranchi to countersign the permit for 5 years w.e.f. 20.02.2023. Thereafter, the petitioner also applied for countersignature of permit by on-line application no.JH-CS-PT-2094, however, till date no step has been taken by the respondent no.2 in this regard which has compelled him to prefer the present writ petition.
3. Mr. Shashank Shekhar, learned A.C. to A.A.G.-V appearing on behalf of the respondents, submits that if no decision on the petitioner’s on-line application for countersignature of the permit in question has been taken by the respondent no.2, the same will be taken without further delay.
4. Considering that petitioner’s online application for countersignature of the permit in question is said to be pending before the respondent no.2, the said respondent is directed to take up the same and dispose it of in accordance with law within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.
5. The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of with aforesaid direction.
