Present Mr.Abhishek Prasad Sahu, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.B.Kirankumar, learned counsel for respondent No.1, Mr.L.Shashibhushan, learned senior counsel assisted by Ms.Liya,
learned counsel for respondent No.4 and Mr.M.Rendy, learned counsel for respondent No.5.
Present contempt petition is filed by the petitioners who are writ petitioners in WP(C) No.555 of 2022. Vide common order dated 10.4.2024, this Court held that the petitioners in WP(C) No.555 of 2022 are entitled to increments in terms of the circular issued by the Government of India.
During course of hearing, Mr.B.Kirankumar, learned counsel for respondent No.1 produces a copy of the letter dated 23.3.2026 sent by the Joint Secretary, CAF & PD, Government of Manipur enclosing a copy of order dated 11.3.2026 informing that the direction of this Court has been complied by giving approval for grant of second and subsequent increments to the three writ petitioners. In the circumstance, the cause of writ petition does not survive.
However, Mr.Abhishek,
learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioners have not received the amount of increment.
This Court is of the view that since order of conferring increments to the petitioners is vide order dated 11.3.2026, actual payment may take some time.
In the circumstance, contempt petition is closed.
