Mr. Rudranil De ……for the State The present writ application has been preferred praying for directions upon the concerned respondents to cause inquiry as per law into the irregularities done in approving non-residential candidates for “ASHA” worker within the village of the petitioner and it is further prayed that necessary inquiry being completed necessary steps be taken by the authorities to remove the evidence of the non- residential “ASHA” workers. It appears from the cause title as per leave granted by the Court that another successful candidate has been added as a party. The State has filed a comprehensive report along with all supporting documents. It appears that the successful candidate being the respondent no. 7 in this case resides within the District of South 24 Parganas at Gosaba. 2 The list of village wise “ASHA” vacancy under the District of South 24 Parganas shows that the area Gosaba falls within the Baruipur and Canning sub- division within the District of 24(P) South. Accordingly, the contention of the petitioner that the respondent no. 7 is not a local resident is not substantiated. The documents annexed to the report submitted by the State authorities and the materials on record, support the eligibility of the respondent no. 7 to that extent. The writ petition is thus dismissed having no merit. Pending applications, if any, stands disposed of. Interim order, if any, stands vacated.
