The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the matter has been referred for mediation at the Mediation Centre, High Court of Manipur and during the process of mediation, parties have arrived at an amicable settlement. The appointed Mediator has submitted a mediation report dated 06.10.2025 and the terms of settlement are as under:-
“Mediation sessions were conducted on 29.07.2025, 07.08.2025, 28.08.2025, 25.09.2025 and 03.10.2025. Both parties were given full opportunity to present their issues and explore settlement possibilities. 1. The Institute vide Order No. B/304/2012-RIMS dated 03.05.2025, has sanctioned a sum of Rs. 13,91,600 (Rupees Thirteen Lakhs Ninety-One Thousand Six Hundred Only) as Death Gratuity in respect of Smt. (late) Yumnam Madonna, Tutor, College of Nursing, RIMS, Imphal, who expired on 13.08.2023. 2. The said amount has been credited to the Bank Account No. 0652200100007841 of Punjab National Bank (IFSC Code: PUNB0065220, MICR Code: 795024004) in the name of Smt. Yumnam Kiranmala Devi (Petitioner), Mother of the late Smt. Yumnam Madonna. 3. Furthermore, the petitioner has received the payment towards withdrawal (20%) for Tier-1 NPS, amounting to Rs. 3,57,340.32, as per the valuation on the death, i.e.,
13.08.2023. The remaining 80% share Annuity for Tier- I, i.e., Rs. 14,29,361.28, will be utilized towards pension and will be payable to her husband i.e., Maibam Yekendra Khuman, R/o Wangkhei Yonglan Leirak, P.O. Porompat, P.S. Porompat, District Imphal East, Manipur-795005. 4. Subsequently, the institute has also processed for reimbursement of medical expenses incurred for the treatment of Late Smt. Yumnam Kiranmala Devi at the earliest. 5. In view of the above, all eligible death and pension benefits, including Death Gratuity, Tier-1 NPS amount and medical reimbursement, have been approved and processed according to the rules.
The payments have been or will be given to the petitioner.”
