Road And Western Express Highway Junction, Andheri (East), Mumbai 400069 2 - Branch Manager, Sbi Life Insurance Company Ltd. 3rd Floor, Rama Port, Main Road Vyapar Vihar Bilaspur District Bilaspur Chhattisgarh ----Respondents (Cause-title taken from Case Information System) For Petitioner : Mr. Sourabh Sahu, Advocate Hon’ble Shri Arvind Kumar Verma Order on Board 24/06/2025 1. With the consent of the petitioner, the matter is heard finally. 2. The present writ petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondent authorities to disburse the Maturity amount of the Insurance Policy No. 37007497002 in the name of the petitioner, which has been purchased by the petitioner, in the name of her son Shikhar Mishra. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is an elderly lady who is residing alone and there is no one to take care of her after marriage of her son, and she is in need of money which the 2 petitioner has invested as the petitioner has purchased the SBI Life Unit Plus III- Fixed Term Plan having Policy No. 37007497002, therefore the petitioner made representation to the concerned Bank for not to disburse the maturity amount in the name of her son but to disburse the same in the account of the petitioner, but no action has been taken by the authorities. Further despite paying the premium from her own source of income, the respondents are not taking any action on the representation of the petitioner and the policy is going to be mature on 29.06.2025. Therefore, He prays for a direction to the respondents to release the maturity amount of the SBI Life Policy. 4. I have learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the document. 5. Considering the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is of the opinion that since the policy is in the name of Shikhar Mishra who is the son of the petitioner and the policy is going to be mature on 29.06.2025, there is no provision to disburse the amount of policy after its maturity to any other person. Therefore, no relief can be granted to the petitioner. 6. Accordingly, the petition being devoid merits, is liable to be and hereby dismissed. Sd/- (Arvind Kumar Verma) Judge Jyoti
