The challenge in the writ petition is to an order dated 15/25.9.2017 whereby the driving licence in the name of the petitioner has been cancelled on the ground that though it had been renewed on several occasions, the original driving licence had never been issued from Agra. 2. A preliminary objection has been raised by the learned Standing Counsel that the impugned order is appealable under Section 17(2) of the U.P. Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. This statutory remedy has not been availed by the petitioner. 3. Under the circumstances, this petition is dismissed leaving it open to the petitioner, in case so advised, to avail the statutory remedy available to him for redressal of his grievance, if any.
