Kirankumar, learned counsel appearing for the respondent no. 5. The learned Dy. AG submitted that a meeting of the committee for assessment of performance of the regular Principals of the Government Colleges of Manipur for extension of tenure as Principals was held on 29.09.2025 and in the said proceedings the case of the petitioner has been recommended for further extension for a period of another 5 years. AG place before this Court a letter dated 13.10.2025 of the Joint Secretary (Higher & Technical Edn.), Government of Manipur addressed to the learned Jr. Government Advocate, Smt. Ipham Sharmila Rahman. In the said letter the proceedings of the aforesaid meeting of the committee was also enclosed and in the said letter it has been clearly stated that the case of the petitioner has been recommended for further extension for another period of 5 years as a regular Principal of Government College and that the proposal for issue of order for extension of the tenure of Principal is under process and awaiting approval of the competent authority. The learned Dy. AG submitted that the present writ petition can be closed by giving two weeks time to the authorities to issue necessary orders for extension. Mr. Kh. Tarunkumar, learned Sr. counsel appearing for the petitioner endorsed the submission made by the learned Dy. AG. Recording the submission made by the learned counsel appearing for the parties, the present writ petition is disposed of with the direction that the authorities should issue the extension Page 3 order within a period of two weeks’ from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
