Bisney, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr. RK Surjit, learned counsel appearing for the respondent Nos. 4, 5 & 6. [ 2] In view of the limited prayer made on behalf of the petitioner and as agreed to by the learned counsel appearing for the parties, the present writ petition is disposed of at the motion stage itself. [ 3] At the outset, Mr. RK Deepak, learned senior counsel submitted that the petitioner having been aggrieved by the impugned transfer order dated 09-07-2025 by which he has been transferred and posted at the State Bank of India, Chandel Branch and also the release order dated 28-07-2025 by which he has been released from his earlier place of posting, the petitioner filed a representation dated 14-07-2025 to the Assistant General Manager, Regional Business Office (RBO Imphal), State Bank of India and to the Assistant General manager (AGM), SBI Imphal East, with a request for LAISHRA M DHAKESH ORI DEVI Digitally signed by LAISHRAM DHAKESHORI DEVI Date: 2025.09.11 14:20:09 +05'30' Page 2 reviewing his transfer orders and that the said representation is still pending for consideration and disposal by the authorities. The learned senior counsel submitted that the petitioner will be satisfied for the time being if the present writ petition is disposed of by directing the Assistant General Manager, Regional Business Office (RBO Imphal), State Bank of India and also the Assistant General manager (AGM), SBI Imphal East, State Bank of India to consider the aforesaid representation dated 14-07-2025 on its own merit and strictly in terms of the applicable transfer policies and to dispose of the same by issuing a speaking order within a stipulated period. [ 4] It has also been submitted by the learned senior counsel that a direction may be issued to the effect that pending consideration and disposal of the said representation submitted by the petitioner, the authorities may be restrained from insisting that the petitioner should join his new place of posting. [ 5] Mr. RK. Surjit, learned counsel appearing for the Assistant General Manager, Regional Business Office (RBO Imphal), State Bank of India and the Assistant General manager (AGM), SBI Imphal East, State Bank of India fairly submitted that as the prayer of the petitioner is confined to the consideration and disposal of the representation submitted by the petitioner, he has no objection in disposing of the present writ petition as prayed for by the learned senior counsel. [ 6] Considering the submission advanced by the learned counsel appearing for the parties and on perusal of the records, this Page 3 Court is of the considered view that interest of justice will be served by disposing of the present writ petition with the following directions:- (i) The Assistant General Manager, Regional Business Office (RBO Imphal), State Bank of India and the Assistant General manager (AGM), SBI Imphal East, State Bank of India,(respondent nos. 4 & 5 herein), are directed to consider the aforesaid representation dated 14-07-2025 submitted by the petitioner on its own merit and strictly in terms of the applicable transfer policies of the State Bank of India and to dispose of the same by issuing a speaking order. (ii) The respondents are directed to complete the process of considering and disposing of the representation by issuing a speaking order within a period of 1(one) month from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. (iii) It is made clear that pending consideration and disposal of the aforesaid representation by the authorities, the status quo as on today in respect of the petitioner and the respondent No. 7 shall be maintained. [ 6] With the aforesaid directions, the present writ petition is disposed of. JUDGE Dhakeshori
