Sandhawalia, Chief Justice (Oral) The present petition has been filed under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India, seeking protection and directions to official respondents No. 1 to 3 on account of the security sought from private respondents No. 5 to 7. The proceedings were initiated on the ground that FIR No. 120 of 2023 dated 24th September, 2023 had been registered (Annexure P-1) and it is on that account the petitioner apprehends threat to his life. 2. The affidavit of the Superintendent of Police, Hamirpur, goes on to show that, on the complaint of the petitioner, Zero FIR No. 2 of 2025 registered at Police Station Palampur, District Kangra, H.P., which was transferred online to Police Station Nadaun, District Hamirpur, where it was registered as FIR No. 29 of 2025 dated 25th February, 2025 1Whether the reporters of the local papers may be allowed to see the Judgment? Yes -2- under Section 232 of the BNS, and the petitioner had been associated during the course of investigation. Statement of the petitioner was recorded and assurance was extended by the local police that all persons involved directly or indirectly behind the said mischief would be dealt with under stringent legal provisions so as to bring them under law. 3. It is also mentioned that the present petitioner had made a formal complaint being a victim in FIR No. 120 of 2023 dated 24th September, 2023. It has also been noticed that appearance had been caused on behalf of the petitioner on two consecutive dates, and it has been admitted in the replication filed that FIR No. 29 of 2025 has been registered under Section 232 of the BNS at Police Station Nadaun, District Hamirpur, H.P. 4. In these circumstances, once the State is taking pro active steps with regard to the issue in question, we are of the considered opinion that no further orders are required to be passed in the present petition, keeping in view the nature of the reliefs sought and in such circumstances it is apparent that the present litigation is not being pursued as counsel has also not put in appearance on two consecutive hearings.
