The petitioners in both the writ petitions have challenged notification issued by the 4th respondent proposing to appoint contract residential teachers. 2. The petitioners have been working as contract residential teachers in the schools run by the 4th respondent. When the petitioners were already working as contract residential teachers, the proposal of the 4th respondent calling upon the prospective candidates to apply for contract residential teachers in their places was challenged in both the writ petitions. 3. This Court, in W.P. No.22370 of 2014, vide an order dated 21.08.2014 granted interim direction directing the respondents to continue the petitioners as contract residential lecturers in the schools where they have been working. 4. The respondents filed their counter, in which they admitted that the petitioners have been continuing in their service as directed by this Court. 5. Recording the submission of the learned counsel for the petitioners and taking note of the admission in the counter that the petitioners are continued as the contract residential teachers/ lecturers, this -3- W.P. No.20827 of 2013 W.P. No.22370 of 2014 Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to continue the petitioners in their service till they attain the age of superannuation. Anyway, this direction would not preclude the respondents from issuing regular recruitment. In the event the respondents intend to issue a notification calling for the appointment of regular residential teachers/lecturers, the service of the petitioners shall also be taken into consideration. 6. With the above direction, these writ petitions are disposed off. No costs. 7. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in these writ petitions shall stand closed. ____________________ JUSTICE HARINATH. N BV
