Petitioner has been made an accused in connection with Kotwali P.S. Case No. 22 of 2024, corresponding to G.R. No. 1732 of 2024 for the offence under Sections 379, 381 and 477 of the Indian Penal Code, pending in the Court of learned C.J.M., Ranchi
The petitioner was working as a cashier in Swarnarekha Head Work Division, Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, Ranchi. It is alleged that some of the bills and registers were missing from the treasury. It is also alleged that the petitioner had taken away the bills and register with him and subsequently defalcated 20 crores.
Statement of several witnesses have been recorded in the case diary in which they have stated that they had not seen the petitioner taking away the bills and register, none of the witnesses have stated that the petitioner had any hand in defalcating the said amount. In fact, the investigating officer has stated that the bills, which were taken by the petitioner were validly withdrawn from the treasury.
Regard being had to the facts and circumstance of the case, the petitioner named above, is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 20,000/- (Twenty Thousand only) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned C.J.M., Ranchi in connection with Kotwali P.S. Case No. 22 of 2024, corresponding to G.R. No. 1732 of 2024.
