JUSTICE RAJESH MAZUMDAR ORDER 06.11.2025 Heard Mr W Rahman, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner. Also heard Mr A Bhattacharjee, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent No. 1; and Ms M Barman, learned counsel appearing for the remaining respondents. 2. Mr Bhattacharjee, learned counsel has placed before this Court, an instruction received by him on 03.11.2025, to the effect the Revenue and Disaster Management Department has released a budget allotment for an amount of Rs. 2 lacs to the DDO concerned, for making payment of ex-gratia grant to the next of kin of Late Chaina Khatun. 3. The prayer in the writ petition was for a direction to the respondent authorities to pay the ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lacs to the petitioner, against the untimely death of his wife. Since the respondent Department has released the budget allotment for the amount and it is expected in a short time, the payment would be made to the petitioner after completion of formalities, nothing remains to adjudicate in the present writ petition, and, Page No.# 3/3 therefore, it is closed. 4. It is made clear that if the payment is not received by the petitioner within a reasonable period of time, upon completing his part of the formalities, he would be at liberty to approach this Court again. 5. Writ petition, accordingly, stands disposed of. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
