1. Head Mr. S. Nawaz, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Ms. R. Hussain, learned Standing Counsel, Customs Department.
2. This is an application filed under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, whereby the petitioner Md. Kamran Ali, who is facing trial in NDPS Case No.148/2025 under Section 20(b)(ii)(B) of the NDPS Act, 1985, pending in the Court of the learned Additional Sessions Judge No.1 cum Special Judge, Kamrup (Metro) at Guwahati has prayed for releasing him on bail.

3. 2.974 Kgs of suspected hydroponic weed (Cannabis) was found in possession of the present petitioner. It is an intermediate quantity. The petitioner has already spent 320 days in judicial custody. No witnesses are examined till now.
4. Considering the long incarceration, without any trial, this Court is of the opinion that the bail of the petitioner shall be considered.
5. Accordingly, the bail application of the petitioner is allowed.
6. The petitioner, Md. Kamran Ali, who is facing trial in NDPS Case No.148/2025, pending in the Court of the learned Additional Sessions Judge No.1 cum Special Judge, Kamrup (Metro) at Guwahti shall be released on bail of Rs.50,000/- with a surety of like amount to the satisfaction of the learned Additional Sessions Judge No.1 cum Special Judge, Kamrup (Metro), Guwahati.
7. With the aforesaid direction, the present bail application is disposed of.
