This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India with the following prayer for:
“.... a Writ of Mandamus declaring the actions of the respondent No. 3,4, and their staff in calling the petitioner to the 3rd respondent P.S., making him sit for long hours, and demanding payment of compensation to accident victims for just being the owner of the

vehicle involved in an accident without his involvement or knowledge, as illegal, arbitrary, unconstitutional and consequently direct the respondent No. 3,4, and their staff not to interfere with life and liberty of the petitioner by calling the petitioner to the 3rd respondent police station without following due process of law or make such illegal demands of payment of compensation through settlement, while directing the 2nd respondent to take departmental action against the erring officials.”
2. Sri V.Farooq, learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home, on written instructions, would submit that except calling the Petitioner over phone to submit the vehicle documents for the purpose of investigation, the Police never called the Petitioner to the Police Station. 3. Sri Sasanka Bhuvanagiri, learned counsel for the Petitioner would submit that, let there by a direction to the Police to follow due process of law. 4. Considering the submissions made, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the Police to follow due process of law. There shall be no order as to costs.
