JUSTICE ARUN DEV CHOUDHURY 12.11.2025 (Ashutosh Kumar, CJ) Pursuant to the order dated 17.10.2025 asking the learned Central Government Counsel to inform this Court about the status of the disciplinary proceeding initiated against the petitioner, Mr. S.C. Keyal, learned Standing Counsel, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), has informed that the departmental proceeding initiated against the petitioner has been concluded and punishment has been awarded to him. It would only be appropriate if the petitioner challenges the same in case so deemed necessary or so advised. Dr. G.J. Sharma, learned counsel for the petitioner, therefore, seeks permission to withdraw this petition in order to pursue his remedies before an appropriate forum.
