The petitioners have prayed for a writ of mandamus commanding the respondents to pay adequate compensation to them for their land before dispossessing them therefrom. 2. Learned Standing Counsel has placed on record the written instructions received from Executive Engineer, Provincial Division, Kaushambi. According to it, efforts were made to acquire title over private lands through negotiations. The petitioners have not agreed to transfer their land in favour of the respondents. Moreover, it is also stated that for the above reason, the respondents have not made any construction over the land of the petitioners. It is stated that no construction would be made over their land unless the same is acquired in accordance with law. 3. In view of the aforesaid stand of the respondents, we are of the opinion that no direction is required to be issued except for an observation that in case the subject land is required by the respondents, they will proceed strictly in accordance with law. 4.
