Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that this writ petition be treated to have been filed only qua relief No.(b), as prayed in para 18 of the writ petition. Learned counsel further submits that the petitioners be reserved liberty to seek appropriate remedy at an appropriate stage for the redressal of their grievances covered under prayer No.(a).
2. Notice. Mr. L.N. Sharma, Additional Advocate General, appears and waives service of notice on behalf of respondents.
3. Petitioners seek higher stage of pay, i.e. Rs.30,500/-, on completion of two years of regular service as 1Whether reporters of Local Papers may be allowed to see the judgment? Yes
-2- Patwari in accordance with notification dated 06.09.2022 (Annexure P-6).
4. Petitioners were appointed as Patwari on contract basis in the respondent-Department on 11.11.2021 (Annexure P-4). Their services were regularized on 07.06.2024 (Annexure P-8). On being appointed on regular basis on 07.06.2024, petitioners were placed in the pay-scale of Rs.20,200/-. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioners’ claim for Rs.30,500/- on completion of two years of regular service on the strength of notification dated 06.09.2022, amending Revised Pay Rules 2022, is covered under the decision rendered in Mohit Sharma & Anr. Versus State of H.P. & Ors.1.

In view of above, it is deemed appropriate to dispose of this writ petition with direction to the respondents to consider and decide the respective cases of the petitioners for grant of higher stage of pay of Rs.30,500/- w.e.f. their completing two years of regular service as Patwari keeping in view the aforesaid decision in Mohit Sharma1. Ordered accordingly. Appropriate orders in this regard be issued 1CWP No.1638 of 2024, decided on 29.11.2024.
-3- within a period of four weeks from today. The decision so arrived at shall also be communicated to the petitioners. Liberty is reserved to the petitioners to seek appropriate remedy in accordance with law at an appropriate stage for the redressal of their grievances covered under relief No.(a). The writ petition stands disposed of in the above terms, so also the pending miscellaneous application(s), if any. Jyotsna Rewal Dua 26th March, 2025
