Heard learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of respondent Nos. 1 to 6. 2. This writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India has been filed for a direction to quash the order dated 20.1.2025 passed by respondent no.4 in pursuance of application dated 5.8.2023 regarding issuance of character certificate. 3. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that there is no evidence against the petitioner in the Case Crime No.0572 of 2022 and the Investigating Officer, after due investigation, has already submitted Final Report; but the respondent authorities have wrongly interpreted the Government Order Number 4435/Ccha:-Pu.-14-60-50(7/2006) dated 2.11.2006 and passed the impugned order dated 20.1.2025 without applying judicial mind. 4. In view of above, the impugned order dated 20.1.2025 is quashed and set aside with the direction upon respondent No.4- Collector/District Magistrate, Sonbhadra to once again consider the application of the petitioner taking into account the criminal case filed against the petitioner. 5.
