Order No. 10 Dated: 18.09.2025 The instant petition has been filed seeking direction upon the respondents to put to sale the seized and confiscated sand. 2. This Court, vide its order dated 10.07.2020, had expressed its concern as to how the confiscated sand was not being put to auction, especially in view of the ensuing monsoon. 3. The respondents have now filed a counter affidavit dated 02.09.2025 which goes to indicate that public auction for sale of 51,58,924 cft. of confiscated sand was conducted under the chairmanship of Additional Collector, Palamau on 14.08.2020 in Palamau Collectorate and for the confiscated sand, the highest bid amount of Rs.5,48,00,000/- (Five Crores Forty-Eight Lakhs) was placed by one Pramod Prasad of Village- Murma, P.O.- Lami Patra, 2025:JHHC:28651-DB 2 P.S.- Pandwa, District-Palamau. Accordingly, the highest bid was accepted and he was declared successful bidder. Thereafter, the Letter of Intent (LoI) dated 31.08.2020 was also issued to said Pramod Prasad after receiving the highest bid amount. 4.
