Heard counsel for the petitioner, Shri Narendra Kumar Giri, who appears for the Election Commission, Shri Vineet Pandey, who appears for the respondent nos.2 and 3, and Shri Abhishek Misra, who appears for the respondent no.11. 2. This petition seeks the following relief:- "(i) issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of certiorari, quashing the election of respondent no.7 to 14 held on 17.1.2025 (Anneuxre:1 to the writ petition)." 3. A preliminary objection has been raised by Shri N.K. Giri counsel appearing for the State Election Commission that the relief prayed for can only be granted by a competent authority in an election suit under Rule 50 of the Election Rules. 4. Despite strenuous arguments, Shri Sujeet Kumar Rai, counsel for the petitioner, has not been able to counter the aforesaid preliminary objection. 5. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed leaving it open for the petitioner to avail the remedy provided under Rule 50 of the Election Rules for redressal of his grievance.
