IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI B.A. No. 9065 of 2024 Raju Paswan @ Dhanjay Paswan @ Guddu Paswan, aged about 31 years, S/o late Daroga Paswan, R/o village- Kadal Kurmi, P.O. & P.S.- Mohamadganj, District- Palamau, Jharkhand … Petitioner - Versus - The State of Jharkhand … Opp. Party ------ CORAM: - HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE AMBUJ NATH ----- For the Petitioner : Mr. Anurag Kashyap, Advocate For the State : Mrs. Kumari Rashmi,A.P.P. --- 03/16.01.2025 Heard the parties. The petitioner has been made accused in connection with S.T. Case No.108B of 2019, arising out of Mohamadganj P.S. Case No.20 of 2008, corresponding to G.R. Case No.1399 of 2008, for the offences registered under Sections 498A, 304-B/34 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3/ 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, pending in the court of learned Additional Sessions Judge-V, Palamau at Daltonganj. Petitioner happens to be the husband of the deceased Geeta Devi who died within seven years of her marriage due to injury sustained by hard and blunt substance in her matrimonial home. She was tortured to enforce the demand of dowry. Mr. Anurag Kashyap, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that in-laws of the deceased have been granted bail by this Court earlier. Considering the fact that petitioner is the husband of the deceased, I am not inclined to release the petitioner, on bail. Accordingly, his prayer for bail stands rejected. Learned trial court shall expedite the trial. (Ambuj Nath, J.) Jay/-
