THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE K SREENIVASA REDDY CRIMINAL PETITION No.210 OF 2025 ORDER: This Criminal Petition, under Sections 480 and 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, has been filed by the petitioner/A6, seeking bail, in Crime No.99/2024 of Cheedikada Police Station, Anakapalle District. 2. A case has been registered against the petitioner and others for the offences under Sections 20(b)(ii)(C), 25 read with 8(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. 3. Case of the prosecution is that on 1.8.2024 at about 3.30 pm, on receipt of credible information regarding illegal possession and transportation of ganja, the S.I. of Police, along with staff, reached outskirts of Manchala Village, Cheedikada Mandal and started conducting vehicle checking. They found one motorcycle and one Auto bearing registration Nos.AP 39 CB 8034 and AP 39 VA 5309 respectively proceeding towards Bailapudi village and on seeing police, the riders of the vehicles tried to escape by turning back their vehicles. Then police apprehended A1 to A4 and on interrogation, they disclosed their identity particulars and police seized 150 kgs of ganja from them. They were arrested and got remanded to judicial custody. Basing on 2 their confession, the petitioner who is A6 was arrested on executing PT warrant on 16.12.2024. 4. Heard. Perused the record. 5. Learned Assistant Public Prosecutor submits that investigation is not yet completed and some more witnesses have to be examined. 6. A perusal of the material available on record goes to show that huge quantity of ganja was seized from A1 to A4 i.e. 150 kgs of ganja, and on their interrogation they confessed the name of the petitioner and the petitioner was arrested on 16.12.2024. As the investigation is at nascent stage, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner/A6, at this stage. 7. Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is dismissed. _______________________ K.
