BEFORE HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE RAJESH MAZUMDAR ORDER 01.12.2025 Heard Mr R Phukan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner. Also heard Mr H Sarma, learned counsel appearing for the respondent No. 2. 2. This writ petition has been instituted in the year 2024, raising a grievance that the objections filed by the petitioners regarding the acquisition compensation had not been placed before the appropriate authorities and a prayer was made that the respondent authorities be directed to take into account the objection raised and to pass appropriate orders thereof. 3. Mr H Sarma, the learned counsel appearing for the respondents has submitted that the time period for filing such objections is 30 days from the date of the notice issued by the competent authority. 4. The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the notice was issued on 27.04.2022 and a complaint was received by the Deputy Commissioner, on 11.05.2023, as would be reflected in the Annexure-3 to the writ petition. 5. In view of the submissions made and the limited prayer made by the writ petitioner, this writ petition is disposed of directing the District Commissioner, Hailakandi, to place the objections filed by the petitioners on 12.05.2023, to the notice of the District Level Land Purchase Committee. The District Level Land Purchase Committee shall, thereafter, take a decision on the representation filed in accordance with law within a period of 60 days from the date or receipt of the representation from the office of the

The outcome of the consideration of the representation shall be made known to the petitioner. 6. The writ petition is accordingly, disposed of. 7. It is made clear that the claim of the petitioners has not been decided on merits and the matter has only been remanded to the appropriate authorities to take a final decision.
