(2) According to petitioner, the land which was allotted to him earlier was allotted to HNB Garhwal University. By means of this writ petition, petitioner has sought the following relief: “a) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant Patta to the petitioner under Government Grant Act in lieu of the initial Patta granted having Patta No. 36 dated 07.08.2000 (Annexure No.-1) in Non Z.A. Khata No. 3/143 Khasra No. 623/5 – 0.201 hectares which is acquired for the construction of the hostel for the Hemwati Nandan Garhwal University in the year 2001.” (3) Learned Counsel for the petitioner relied upon a letter dated 28.1.2021, issued by District Magistrate, Tehri Garhwal. He submits that State Government is sitting tight over the matter and no decision has been taken till date. (4) In such view of the matter, writ petition is disposed of directing the Secretary, Revenue to examine the matter and take decision regarding grant of fresh patta to petitioner, as per law, within four months from the date of production of certified copy of this order.
