Neutral Citation No. - 2025:AHC:33297 Court No. - 5 Case :- WRIT - A No. - 2945 of 2025 Petitioner :- Smt Sheelu Pandey @ Shivangini Bhargav Respondent :- Government Of India Through Secratary Ministry Of Consumer Affairs And 4 Others Counsel for Petitioner :- Mahendra Pratap Singh Counsel for Respondent :- A.S.G.I.,Pranjal Mehrotra Hon'ble Ajay Bhanot,J. Shri Mahendra Pratap Singh, learned counsel appears for the petitioner. Shri Pranjal Mehrotra, learned counsel appears for the respondents 2 to 5. The petitioner's father died in the year 2012. The petitioner has approached this Court for grant of appointment on compassionate ground in the year 2025. No satisfactory explanation for delay has been made in the writ petition. Mere filing of repeated applications does not condone the delay on part of the petitioner. In any case long delay in filing application for grant of appointment on compassionate ground gives rise to an inference that the financial destitution faced by the family at the time of death of the deceased-employee has ceased to exist. (See: Ashish Yadav Vs. Managing Director, UP State Road Transport Corporation and others rendered in Writ A No. 17483 of 2024). The writ petition is dismissed on the ground of delay and laches.
