The grievance of the petitioner in the present petition is that he has been wrongly denied the benefits under the third Assured Career Progression scheme. It is also the grievance of the petitioner that certain benefits were denied to him treating his service to be notional from the period between 27.12.1990 and 31.10.1995. The petitioner has already represented his grievance before the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Establishment) U.P. Police Headquarters, Lucknow but it has been stated in the writ petition that no decision is being taken by the Deputy Inspector General of Police on the representation of the petitioner. It would serve no useful purpose to keep the petition pending. The petition is disposed of with a direction to the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Establishment) U.P. Police Headquarters, Lucknow to decide the representation of the petitioner for the benefits under the third Assured Career Progression scheme within a period of three months from today. In case, the petitioner is found entitled to the benefits as claimed by him, the consequential arrears of salary and the revision of pension of the petitioner shall also be paid and the arrears shall be paid within a period of one month from the date of decision. It is directed that the present order is also binding on the respondent no. 4. A copy of this order be communicated to the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Establishment, U.P.
