“By way of this writ petition, the petitioner has prayed for the following reliefs:- (i) “That the respondents may kindly be directed to pay or deposit the award amount as awarded vide award SML 2/2003 dated 05.09.2023 Annexure P-2 to the petitioners alongwith up to date interest, within stipulated period. interest of justice.”
The grievance with which the petitioner approached this Court was that despite the fact that a supplementary award stood announced on 05.09.2023 by the Land Acquisition Collector in favour of the petitioner for an amount of Rs.3,28,195/-, till date of the filing of the petition, the said amount was not paid to the petitioner. It is an admitted fact that the amount was paid during the pendency of these proceedings on 07.04.2025. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the delay in the payment of the amount obviously entail interest which is not being paid by the respondents to the petitioner. Learned Deputy Advocate General has referred to Annexure R-1 and has submitted that in terms thereof, an amount of Rs.52,564/- is payable as interest. Mr. Ramesh Sharma, learned counsel submits that the petitioner shall not claim any amount more than what is mentioned in Annexure R-1 provided this amount is paid within some reasonable time. On the request of learned Deputy Advocate General, the case is ordered to be listed on 23.07.2025.
In case, this amount is deposited with the Registry of this Court/paid to the petitioner by the respondents by 23.07.2025, then, this Court shall not direct the respondents to pay any further interest on the delayed payment, otherwise, the respondents

will be burdened with interest as upto date of the deposition of the amount.”
2. Today, learned Deputy Advocate General has handed over a copy of instructions dated 22.07.2025, which is taken on record. By referring thereto, he informed the Court that interest amount has been deposited with the Registry of this Court. Let the said amount be released in favour of the petitioner, in his bank account, details whereof shall be provided by learned Counsel for the petitioner to the Registry. As nothing more remains to be adjudicated in this petition, the same is accordingly closed. Pending miscellaneous applications, if any, also stand disposed of accordingly. (Ajay Mohan Goel)
