The petitioners have filed this petition seeking the following relief(s):- “1] That, this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to issue a writ/writs, direction/directions, order/orders, quashing the impugned order dated 02.06.2018 (Annex.P/1) passed by the respondent authorities so far as it relates to the promotion of the private respondents are concerned. 2] That, this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to issue a writ/writs, direction/directions, order/orders, and the authorities may kindly be directed to consider the case of the petitioners for promotion on the post of Assistant Sub- Inspector against the unreserved category along with all consequential benefits. 3] That, this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to grant any other relief(s), which is deemed fit and proper in the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case” -4- 2. Mr. Paranjpe, learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that by way of the writ petition, the petitioners have claimed promotion to the post of Assistant Sub-Inspector in the Police Department. He would fairly submit that during the pendency of this petition, the petitioners have been promoted to the said post vide order dated 18.10.2021. He would contend that with regard to issue of seniority, the petitioners may be permitted to make representations before respondent No.3 and in turn, the said authority may be directed to decide the representations so made by the petitioners expeditiously and strictly in accordance with law. 3. On the other hand, learned Panel Lawyer appearing for the State would oppose the submissions made by Mr. Paranjpe. 4. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the parties and perused the documents placed on the record. 5. Taking into consideration the limited prayer made by Mr. Paranjpe, this petition at this juncture is disposed of reserving liberty in favour of the petitioners to make representations before the respondent No.3 and the said authority is directed to decide the representations if made by the petitioners strictly in accordance with law preferably within a period of 150 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.
