By the present writ petition, the petitioner is seeking a direction towards the respondent No.2/ Regional Passport Officer to make necessary correction in the passport issued to the petitioner. 2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that a passport has been issued to the petitioner on the application 2 / 2 made by him wherein the name of the petitioner has wrongly been mentioned as “Yash Kumar Khare” although his correct name is “Yash Khare”. The petitioner submitted a representation/ explanation dated 17/12/2024 before the respondent No.2 for necessary correction of his name in the passport however, no correction has been made as requested by the petitioner till date. 3. Learned counsel appearing for the respondent submits that if the petitioner has already approached through any application before the respondent No.2, he shall consider and decide the same in accordance with law within a period of 15 days. 4. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the documents. 5. From perusal of the passport issued by the passport authority, it appears that the name of the petitioner has wrongly been mentioned as “Yash Kumar Khare,” and same needs to be rectified. 6. As the petitioner has already approached the respondent No. 2/ Regional Passport Officer, he is directed to consider and decide the application submitted by the petitioner and take necessary steps for correction of the name of the petitioner in the passport in accordance with law, within a period of 15 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7.
