This matter is taken up through hybrid mode. 2. Grievance of the Petitioner in this writ petition is with regard to inaction of the Special Land Acquisition Officer, Lower Indra Irrigation Project, Khariar in disposing of the application under Section 28-A of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (for brevity, ‘the Act’) in terms of the judgment dated 2nd April, 2024 passed by the learned Civil Judge (Sr. Division), Nuapada in L.A.R. No.32 of 2019 in a reference under Section 18 of the Act. 3. This Court vide order dated 10th December, 2025 directed the learned State Counsel to take instruction with regard to the current status of the application under Section 28-A of the Act. 4. Mr. Biswal, learned Additional Standing Counsel, on instruction, submits that due to discrepancy in the name of the father of the Petitioner, he has been noticed to appear and remove the discrepancy. p. 2 5. Mr. Behera, learned counsel for the Petitioner, however, submits that the Petitioner has not received any notice in that regard. 6. In view of the above, this Court disposes of the writ petition with a direction that in the event the Petitioner appears before the Special Land Acquisition Officer, Lower Indra Irrigation Project, Khariar on 23rd February, 2026, the Special Land Acquisition Officer, Lower Indra Irrigation Project, Khariar shall do well to provide him the details of any shortcoming in the application under Section 28-A of the Act. On compliance of the same within a period of 15 days thereafter, the Special Land Acquisition Officer, Lower Indra Irrigation Project, Khariar shall do well to dispose of the application under Section 28-A of the Act, as expeditiously as, possible within a period of two months thereafter giving opportunity of hearing to the parties concerned. 7. In the event the Petitioner is found entitled to receive compensation in terms of judgment dated 2nd April, 2024 passed by learned Civil Judge (Senior Division), Nuapada in LA.R. No.32 of 2019, the compensation shall be released in his favour by the end of August, 2026 verifying his entitlement. Urgent certified copy of this order be granted on proper application. (K.R.
