Case No. 140 of 2024, for the offences registered under Sections 419/420/467/468/471/120(B) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 66(B)/66(C)/66(D) of the Information Technology Act, pending in the court of Sri Manish Ranjan, learned Additional Judicial Commissioner-II, Ranchi. The informant had joined a WhatsApp group, created by one Arunima Ray. The whatsapp group promised its members that it will provide lucrative returns to them, if they invested their money in the share market through them. The informant on the basis of such promise deposited Rs.98.00 Lakhs and his cousins also deposited about Rs.40.00 Lakhs in the bank account, given by Arunima Ray. Later on, the accused persons misappropriated the entire amount. During the course of investigation, it transpires that Rs.63,60,000 was deposited in the account of the present petitioner. Considering the nature of allegation, I am not inclined to release the petitioner, on bail. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is hereby rejected. (Ambuj Nath, J.) BS/-
