Registry has raised office objection with regard to maintainability of the petition on the ground that FIR has been registered against the petitioner for the offences punishable under the provisions of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. 3. The petitioner has an alternative remedy of filing an appeal under Section 14A of the Act and therefore, Registry has rightly raised office objection with regard to maintainability of this petition. Accordingly, petition is dismissed as not maintainable with liberty to the petitioner to avail the remedy of appeal as provided under Section 14A of the Act. 4.
