2. By this petition filed under Section 482 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, the petitioner, namely, Smti. Runjun Mahanta, has prayed for granting pre-arrest bail, apprehending arrest in connection
Page No.# 2/2 with Tingkhang P.S. Case No. 82/2025 under Section 108 of BNS, 2023.
3. The petitioner was granted pre-arrest bail vide order dated
03.11.2025.
4. The allegation as reflected in the FIR is that the deceased, who committed suicide by consuming poison on the stairs of Dipankar Mahanta’s gym. Later on, the informant came to know that the deceased had illicit relationship with Dipankar Mahanta and the deceased typed a note in her mobile phone, implicating Dipankar Mahanta and the present petitioner.
5. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that pursuant to grant of interim protection vide order dated 03.11.2025, the petitioner appeared before the I/O and recorded her statement. It is also submitted that the petitioner has a four years old child to look after.
6. In the given facts and circumstances, I deem it fit to confirm the interim bail. Accordingly, the interim protection vide dated 03.11.2025 is hereby made absolute subject to the conditions – that the petitioner shall be available for trial, if one commences; and that the petitioner shall not hamper or tamper with evidence.
7. Violation or breach of condition(s) shall entail cancellation of the bail.
8. The petition stands disposed of accordingly.
