None appears on behalf of respondent No.4. By the present writ petition, the petitioner, wife of respondent No.4 approached this Court for cancellation of Arms Licence of respondent No.4 as she has been threatened by respondent No.4 on repeated occasion and she is afraid of her safety, life and liberty. None appears on behalf of respondent No.4. However, respondent No.4 has filed counter affidavit denying the averments made in the writ petition. Mr.S.Niranjan, learned Government Advocate draws attention of this Court to the counter affidavit of respondent No.3/Superintendent of Police, Imphal West and refers to para 8. It is stated that on 7.7.2022 a raid was made by personnel of Imphal West Police personnel and one .32 pistol having licence No.6099/IW issued by the District Magistrate, Imphal West, along with two magazines and gun licence were seized by police personnel and they are kept in the safe custody of Police. Mr.S.Niranjan, learned Government Advocate submits that in view of subsequent development the writ petition may be disposed of by giving liberty to the petitioner to approach the appropriate forum for cancellation of gun licence. This Court has considered the materials on record. As stated in the counter affidavit filed by the Superintendent of Police, Imphal West gun licence of .32 pistol allotted to respondent No.4 has already been in the custody of Imphal West Police, along with ammunition. In the circumstance, the writ petition is disposed of giving liberty to the petitioner to approach the appropriate forum for cancellation of gun licence, if so desires.
