Learned counsel appearing for the claimant submits that for the injuries sustained by the claimant in the accident, the amount that is granted under the head of pain and sufferings is on the lower side. It is further submitted that the Tribunal had considered the income only at an amount of Rs.7,000/- per month which is on the lower side. The doctor had assessed the disability to the whole body at 13%, but the Tribunal had taken the disability at 8% which is on the lower side and the compensation granted under the other heads also is not just and reasonable. 6. Coming to the loss of income during the laid up period, as this accident occurred in the year 2013, this Court is taking the income of the claimant at an amount of Rs.8,000/- per month. Hence, towards loss of income during laid up period, this Court is granting an amount of Rs.24,000/-. Towards the medical expenses, the Tribunal had rightly granted an amount of Rs.1,36,210/- and no interference is called for. As per the evidence of the doctor, the claimant had sustained 13% disability to the whole body, the Tribunal had taken the disability at 8%. As the claimant was in the hospital for two days, this Court is granting an amount of Rs.5,000/- towards conveyance, food and nourishment expenses. Towards future medical expenses, this Court is granting an amount of Rs.20,000/-. 8. In the light of the law laid down by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of V.Mekala vs. M. Malathi and Another1, the claimant is entitled for an amount of Rs.10,000/- towards legal expenses. 9. The claimant is therefore, entitled to the compensation under the following heads: SL.
