The settlement has been made at an amount of Rs. 21,75,000/- (Rupees Twenty One Lakh Seventy Five Thousand) only, out of which Rs. 10,94,680/- was deposited earlier. At the time of filing of the claim petition, all the three children of the deceased were minors. Since then, the appellant No. 2, Emmanuel, has attained majority. Out of the award amount already deposited by the Insurance Company, fixed deposits were made in the names of the then minor children, which were deposited in the Registry of this Court pursuant to order dated 10.03.2025 passed in I.A. (Civil) No. 650/2025. The claimant has withdrawn the said amount of Rs. 10,94,680/-. Page No.# 3/3 It appears that although the learned Tribunal had directed for making fixed deposits of Rs. 2,00,000/- each in the names of the three minor children, the same was not done in view of the aforesaid order passed by the High Court. Finally, the matter has been settled at Rs. 21,75,000/-, out of which the aforesaid amount of Rs. 10,94,680/- has already been withdrawn by the claimant No. 1/appellant No. 1. In view of the above, an amount of Rs. 1,50,000/- each in the names of the remaining minor children shall be kept in fixed deposit. The statutory deposit earlier made by the Insurance Company is allowed to be withdrawn. The Insurance Company shall deposit the remaining amount of Rs. 10,80,320/- with the Registry of this Court within 4 (four) weeks. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
