SL. No Date Office Notes, reports, orders or proceedings or directions and Registrar’s order with Signatures COURT’S OR JUDGES’S ORDERS 2025:UHC:1850-DB WPSB No.72 of 2021 Hon’ble Manoj Kumar Tiwari, J. Hon’ble Ashish Naithani, J. 1. Mr. Bhupesh Kandpal, leanred counsel for the petitioner. 2. Mr. Sudhir Kumar Nainwal, learned Standing Counsel for the State of Uttarakhand. 3. Petitioner has challenged notification dated 30.12.2020, issued by Director General, Information and Public Relation Department, Government of Uttarakhand. By the said notification, applications were invited from teachers serving in Education Department for filling 12 vacancies on the post of Information Officer/District Information Officer by Deputation. 4. According to petitioner, field of eligibility should not have been restricted only to teachers serving in Education Department but it should have been kept open for all Government employees serving in various Government Departments. 5. Learned State Counsel however points out that deputation was to be made only for a period of one year or till regular appointment on the post of Information Officer/District Information Officer. He submits that the applications were invited in the month of December 2020 and the persons appointed were taken on deputation only for one year; since the period of one year has expired long back, therefore, the relief claimed in this writ petition, do not survive as the term of the persons, who are taken on deputation has also expired during the interregnum. 6. This Court finds substance in the said submission. 7. Since the notification itself indicates that persons appointed on deputation were to hold office in the Directorate of Information only for one year, therefore, the relief claimed by the petitioner, do not survive any longer. The writ petition is, therefore, dismissed as infructuous. (Ashish Naithani, J.) (Manoj Kumar Tiwari, J.) 18.03.2025 Arti 2025:UHC:1850-DB
