JUSTICE SANJAY KUMAR MEDHI ORDER 13.12.2025 This is an appeal filed by the appellant-New India Assurance Company Ltd. against the Award dated 07.03.2024 passed by the learned Member, Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Sonitpur, Tezpur (for short MACT, Sonitpur) in MAC Case No.6/2023 (Death). Ms. Hena Haflongbar, Assistant Manager of The New India Insurance Assurance Company Ltd. (Insurance Company) and the claimant-Ms. Marami Saikia along with her learned counsel, Shri P.P. Baruah are present today i.e., 13.12.2025 in the National Lok Adalat. The parties present jointly submit that the matter has been amicably settled between the parties and a lump sum amount Rs.9,60,000/- as full and Page No.# 3/3 final settlement has been agreed upon. In view of the above, the appeal stands closed with a direction that the Insurance Company shall deposit the aforesaid lump sum amount of Rs. 9,60,000/- being the full and final payment directly to the bank account, being A/C No.4034298123 and IFC Code No. CBIN0282709 maintained by the appellant with the Central Bank of India, Karchantala Branch, Sonitpur within a period of 45 days from today. The statutory deposit of Rs.25,000/- made by the Insurance Company at the time of filing of the appeal would be refunded to the Insurance Company within a period of 30 days.
