RAVINDRA YANAMANDRA The Court made the following: ORDER: The petitioner is seeking a declaration to set aside the selection process of the 4th respondent as District Child Protection Officer (DCPO). The respondent Nos.1 to 3 have issued orders of appointment to the 4th respondent appointing the 4th respondent as DCPO for a period of one year vide proceedings dated 09.09.2011. 2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has more experience and better qualifications than the 4th respondent. The petitioner holds an M.A. (Social Work) with 64% marks, whereas the 4th respondent holds an M.A. (Sociology) with 46% marks. 3. The petitioner, however, is admittedly beyond the age limit specified for the application to the said post. According to the eligibility criteria published in the notification dated 02.11.2010, applicants should be between the ages of 25 and 35 years. As the petitioner exceeded the prescribed age limit, the 4th brespondent was appointed. Furthermore, the writ petition has outlived its purpose, as the proceedings are limited to one-year duration. 4. Recording the same, this Writ Petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
